Ciplar-LA 40 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure, prevent chest pain (angina), control irregular heart rhythms, prevent migraine attacks, and reduce the risk of bleeding associated with portal hypertension (high blood pressure in the vein that carries blood to the liver).
It contains propranolol, a beta-blocker, in a long-acting form. Take it as prescribed, preferably at the same time each day. Do not stop it suddenly, as beta-blockers should be reduced gradually under medical guidance to avoid rebound effects on blood pressure and heart rate.
Lifestyle measures that support heart and blood pressure health include following a low-salt diet, staying active within your limits, limiting alcohol, and quitting smoking. These measures may also help reduce the frequency of migraine attacks.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any asthma or breathing problems, diabetes, thyroid problems, poor circulation, or a slow heart rate. It can mask the signs of low blood sugar in people with diabetes. Speak to your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
