Ciplox 500 Tablet is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections, including those affecting the lungs (pneumonia, bronchitis), urinary tract, prostate, and skin. The medication helps clear infections in joints and also treats serious conditions such as anthrax and gonorrhoea, effectively eliminating bacteria from the body.

Swallow the tablet as a whole with water after your meal to avoid stomach discomfort.
Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
Take the Ciplox 500 Tablet at a fixed time for best results.

Ciplox 500 Tablet is taken orally.

Ciplox 500 Tablet may cause side effects such as nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, indigestion, joint pain, and urticaria (hives). If these side effects persist or worsen, consult your doctor.

Managing the Side Effects:

Some of the side effects are temporary and generally harmless which resolve on discontinuing Ciplox 500 Tablet. However, if you experience any serious side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

Ciplox 500 Tablet contains the following component:

Ciprofloxacin (500 mg): It is a quinolone antibiotic that works by blocking two critical bacterial enzymes, DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which are crucial for bacterial DNA replication and repair. Ciprofloxacin stops the bacteria from multiplying and spreading the infection by inhibiting these enzymes.

Pregnancy

It is preferred to avoid the use of Ciplox 500 Tablet in pregnancy. It is advised to inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant before taking this medicine.

Breastfeeding

Ciplox 500 Tablet is not recommended for breastfeeding women as it may be excreted into breast milk and harm the baby. Consult your doctor before taking a Ciplox 500 Tablet while breastfeeding.

Alcohol

Refrain from drinking alcohol while using Ciplox 500 Tablet as it may lead to increased dizziness. Consult your doctor before taking the Ciplox 500 Tablet.

Liver

Children

Uricosuric agents such as probenecid when taken with Ciplox 500 Tablet may interact and increase the effects of Ciplox 500 Tablet
Bronchodilators such as theophylline when taken with Ciplox 500 Tablet may interact and increase the effects of Ciplox 500 Tablet
Alpha-2 adrenergic agonists such as tizanidine when taken with Ciplox 500 Tablet may interact and increase the side-effects of Ciplox 500 Tablet
Antipsychotics such as olanzapine, clozapine, and risperidone when taken with Ciplox 500 Tablet may interact and increase the effects of antipsychotics.
Anticonvulsants such as phenytoin when taken with Ciplox 500 Tablet may interact and decrease the effects of phenytoin.
Antiarrhythmics such as quinidine, hydroquinone, disopyramide, and amiodarone when taken with Ciplox 500 Tablet may interact and increase the effects of antiarrhythmics.
Tricyclic antidepressants such as doxepin and amoxapine when taken with Ciplox 500 Tablet may interact and increase the effect of tricyclic antidepressants.
Macrolide antibiotics such as azithromycin and clarithromycin when taken with Ciplox 500 Tablet may interact and increase the effect of macrolide antibiotics.
Vasodilators such as pentoxifylline when taken with Ciplox 500 Tablet may interact and increase the effect of vasodilators.
Antidepressants such as agomelatine when taken with Ciplox 500 Tablet may interact and increase the effect of antidepressants.
Proton pump inhibitors such as omeprazole when taken with Ciplox 500 Tablet may interact and decrease the effect of Ciplox 500 Tablet.

Ciplox 500 Tablet can interact with diseases, including:

Rheumatoid arthritis can worsen on taking Ciplox 500 Tablet.
Myasthenia gravis can worsen on taking Ciplox 500 Tablet.
Tendonitis can worsen on taking Ciplox 500 Tablet.
Epilepsy can worsen on taking Ciplox 500 Tablet.

Daily Dose

The daily dose of Ciplox 500 Tablet should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. The dosage may change based on individual factors such as the severity of the condition and response to treatment. It is important to follow the prescribed dosage and not exceed it without consulting your doctor.

Over Dose
