Clavix Gold-40 Capsule is used for the following:

• Secondary prevention of heart attack

• Management of unstable angina conditions

• Reducing the risk of stroke caused by lack of blood flow, known as ischemic stroke

• Assisting in the care for established peripheral arterial disease

• Providing supportive care for patients who have undergone coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery

• Aiding in recovery and preventative care post-percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedures, such as angioplasty and stenting.

To use Clavix Gold-40 Capsule effectively, follow these steps:

• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water. Do not chew or crush it.

• Try to take the capsule at the same time each day to maintain a consistent level of medication in your body.

Clavix Gold-40 Capsule contains three active ingredients that work together to minimise the risk of cardiovascular events:

• Atorvastatin (40 mg): This ingredient falls under the category of 'statins' or cholesterol-lowering medicines. It blocks the action of an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase, which plays a crucial role in making cholesterol in your body. By doing so, atorvastatin successfully reduces the levels of 'bad' cholesterol and triglycerides, thereby preventing the buildup of harmful fat deposits in the arteries.

• Clopidogrel (75 mg): This ingredient is antiplatelet agent. It works by preventing a substance called adenosine diphosphate (ADP) from binding to its receptor in your blood platelets. This action helps to inhibit platelet aggregation, thereby reducing the risk of blood clots.

• Aspirin (75 mg): Aspirin acts as an antiplatelet agent. It blocks an enzyme called cyclooxygenase inside your body. Blocking this enzyme reduces the production of thromboxane A2, a substance that can cause blood clots and tighten your blood vessels.
