Cleargel Gel is used to treat acne on the face and body. It reduces redness, swelling and painful pimples caused by bacteria in the skin, and with regular use helps clear existing acne and reduce future breakouts.
It contains clindamycin, a topical antibiotic. It works by targeting the bacteria in the skin's pores that contribute to acne.
Apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin on the affected areas as directed, avoiding the eyes, nose and mouth. Using a gentle cleanser and a daily sunscreen supports treatment.
Tell your doctor about any allergy to antibiotics or a history of antibiotic-associated bowel problems. Follow your doctor's advice on how long to use it, as long-term use can reduce its effect. Topical clindamycin mainly treats inflammatory acne and is commonly paired with benzoyl peroxide to reduce antibiotic resistance; it does not directly clear blackheads or whiteheads.
