Colax Syrup 100ml

Colax Syrup is used to relieve occasional constipation in adults and children over 12 years. It helps soften stools and ease bowel movements during pregnancy, after childbirth, or for elderly and bedridden patients. It is also effective for preparing the bowels before medical procedures and for relieving constipation caused by medications like opioids. Additionally, it helps people with hemorrhoids or anal fissures by softening stools and reducing discomfort.

Administer Colax Syrup as follows:

• Shake the bottle well before using the syrup.

• Use the provided measuring cup to measure out the correct dose.

• The syrup can be taken either on its own or mixed with milk or fruit juice, if needed.

• You can take this medicine with or without food. However, taking it on an empty stomach may hasten its action.

• As this is a sugar-based medicine, if you have diabetes, consult your doctor before using it.

• Always cap the bottle tightly after use to maintain its efficacy.

Colax Syrup is taken orally.

Colax Syrup contains sodium picosulfate (5mg per 5ml), which influences your body in the following ways:

• Stimulates Large Intestine: Once consumed, sodium picosulfate is converted into an active compound by gut bacteria. This compound stimulates the lining of the large intestine or colon.

• Increases Peristalsis: The stimulation leads to an increase in wavelike contractions of the colon muscles, called peristalsis.

• Retains Water & Electrolytes: Sodium picosulfate also causes water and electrolytes to be retained in the colon.

The combined effect of increased peristalsis and fluid retention in the colon softens stools and promotes bowel movements, thereby managing constipation effectively.

• Store Colax Syrup below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

• Do not refrigerate or freeze the syrup.

• Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.

• Ensure the medicine is out of reach of children.

• Always check the expiration date on the bottle and use it before this date.

• Stay Hydrated: When taking Colax Syrup for constipation, ensure you drink plenty of fluids. This helps to soften your stools and promotes regular bowel movements.
