Coligyl Dry Syrup is primarily given to manage bacterial infections in children. This medicine belongs to a group of medicines known as polymyxin antibiotics, reserved for infections that do not respond to other antibiotics.
This medicine works by disrupting the bacterial cell membrane, which kills the bacteria and clears the infection, and it is generally reserved for more serious infections or those caused by resistant bacteria.
Give this syrup to your child using the measuring cup provided, at the dose your child's doctor prescribes based on age and weight, and complete the full course even if your child feels better early.
Tell your child's doctor if your child has kidney problems, as this medicine needs particular caution in that situation. Report any unusual weakness, tingling, or reduced urination promptly.
