CompositionCombimist-L Respules is used for managing bronchospasm associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema. It combines levosalbutamol, a bronchodilator, with ipratropium, an anticholinergic bronchodilator.
Levosalbutamol relaxes the muscles around the airways to widen them quickly, while ipratropium blocks nerve signals that cause airway tightening, and together they provide fuller relief of breathlessness and wheeze than either medicine alone.
Use this respule with a nebuliser machine as your doctor prescribes, breathing in the mist through a mouthpiece or mask over the recommended time, usually several times a day as needed.
Tell your doctor if you have glaucoma or difficulty passing urine, as ipratropium needs caution in these conditions, and avoid letting the mist come into contact with your eyes. Report any chest pain, a fast or irregular heartbeat, or worsening breathlessness despite using this medicine.
