Crevast 40 Tablet is used in the following situations:

• Managing primary hyperlipidemia which involves elevated levels of LDL cholesterol, total cholesterol, and triglycerides

• Handling mixed dyslipidemia

• Helping to manage homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH) as an adjunct to diet and other lipid-lowering managements

• Preventing major cardiovascular events in adult patients who are at high risk

• Slowing down the progression of atherosclerosis as part of a management strategy to lower total-C and LDL-C to target levels

Crevast 40 Tablet contains rosuvastatin (40 mg) which works on the body in the following ways:

• Inhibits HMG-CoA reductase: Rosuvastatin works by blocking an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase in your body. This enzyme plays a key role in forming cholesterol inside your body.

• Decreases blood cholesterol: By inhibiting the activity of HMG-CoA reductase, rosuvastatin effectively reduces blood cholesterol levels.

• Reduces hepatic synthesis of VLDL: Rosuvastatin also inhibits hepatic synthesis of very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL), thus reducing the total number of VLDL and LDL particles.
