This medication contains Furazolidone and Metronidazole. Both ingredients are anti-infectives that work in the gut to damage the DNA of harmful microorganisms, leading to their death. Furazolidone is particularly effective against common bacteria, while Metronidazole targets parasites (like Giardia) and anaerobic bacteria.
This tablet should be taken with food to minimize stomach upset. Important: Avoid alcohol during treatment and for 3 days after finishing, as it can cause severe nausea and vomiting. It may turn the urine a darker or brownish color—this is harmless. Consult your doctor if the diarrhea does not improve within 48 hours.
