Composition

Domperidone (30 Mg) + Pantoprazole (40 Mg)

Dompan SR Tablet is used to treat GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease) when standard treatments are insufficient. Combining a dopamine antagonist and a PPI, it helps manage acid reflux, heartburn, and digestive discomfort, improving gastrointestinal comfort and supporting better digestion.

This tablet is also used to promote the healing of peptic ulcers. It improves digestion and reduces symptoms associated with GERD and peptic ulcers.

Dompan Tablet should be taken orally. This tablet is generally safe when prescribed by a doctor. However, you should inform your doctor if you have severe liver disease, kidney problems, or heart conditions. You should also inform your doctor about other ongoing medications before this tablet is prescribed to you.

The uses of the Dompan SR Tablet include:

Treatment of GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease)
Healing of peptic ulcers

Take the tablet with one whole glass of water.
Swallow the tablet as a whole; do not crush or chew it.
Take the tablet at fixed times each day to maintain a consistent level of medication.

Dompan SR Tablet should be taken orally.

Dompan SR Tablet is considered safe and effective when a doctor prescribes it. However, some people may experience mild side effects. These include:

Headache
Diarrhoea
Nausea
Dryness of the mouth

Management Of Side Effects:

Most of the side effects resolve on discontinuation of the tablet and are temporary and, in most cases, do not require medical attention. In case any of these side effects persist or worsen contact your doctor regarding the same.

Dompan SR Tablet contains the following components:

Domperidone (30 mg): It is a dopamine antagonist that helps to improve the movement of food through the digestive system. It works by blocking a specific receptor in the digestive tract, which increases the contractions of the muscles and helps food move more smoothly.
Pantoprazole (40 mg): It reduces the production of stomach acid by blocking the enzyme responsible for producing acid in the stomach. By reducing the amount of acid, pantoprazole helps to relieve symptoms such as heartburn and allows the healing of peptic ulcers.

Pregnancy

Due to the lack of controlled studies on the Dompan SR Tablet in pregnant women, it is not indicated in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before use.

Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding women should not use the Dompan SR Tablet as it can pass into the nursing infant through breast milk. Consult your doctor before taking this tablet while breastfeeding.

Alcohol

Alcohol tends to increase the acid production inside the stomach. Hence, be cautious about taking alcohol with the Dompan SR Tablet. Please consult your doctor before use.

Liver

Patients with liver dysfunction should cautiously take this tablet. If you have a liver problem, inform your doctor before taking the Dompan SR Tablet.

Kidney

Kidney patients should not take Dompan SR Tablet. It can cause more kidney damage. Consult your doctor about the risks of taking this tablet for kidney disease.

Use In Driving And Operating Machinery

You may experience dizziness after taking the Dompan SR Tablet. It's better to avoid using machines and driving if you experience these side effects after taking this medicine.

Allergy

If you are allergic to Dompan SR Tablet, or pantoprazole, or domperidone, do not take Dompan SR Tablet. Please consult your doctor before use.

Children

It is safe to be prescribed in children above 12 years, provided a doctor prescribes the dosage; please consult your doctor before use.

Older Patients

Be cautious about using Dompan SR Tablet in older patients, especially in cases of liver & kidney diseases. Please consult your doctor before use.

Drug-Drug Interactions

Dompan SR Tablet can interact with drugs, including:

Antifungal medications such as ketoconazole and fluconazole. This tablet may reduce the absorption of these antifungal medications, potentially reducing their effectiveness.
Antibiotics such as erythromycin. Dompan SR Tablet and erythromycin can affect heart rhythm, increasing the risk of irregular heartbeats when used together.
Immunosuppressants such as methotrexate. It may elevate the blood concentration of methotrexate.
Diuretics such as furosemide. There is a risk of electrolyte imbalances when combining furosemide with this tablet, potentially affecting magnesium levels.
Antiplatelet medicine such as clopidogrel. This tablet reduces the effectiveness of clopidogrel.
Thyroid hormones such as levothyroxine. This tablet decreases the absorption of levothyroxine, reducing its effectiveness.

Drug-Disease Interactions

Dompan SR Tablet can interact with diseases, including:

Hypomagnesemia: The prolonged use of Dompan SR Tablet can lead to hypomagnesemia.
Liver disease: The Dompan SR Tablet may worsen the disease.
Bone fractures: The long-term use of Dompan SR Tablet may be associated with an increased risk for osteoporosis-related fractures of the hip, wrist, or spine.
Diarrhoea: The Dompan SR Tablet may worsen the diarrhoea.

Daily Dose

Over Dose
