CompositionEnapril 5 Tablet 15 is used to lower and control high blood pressure (hypertension), to prevent the chest pain of angina, and to help manage heart failure and reduced pumping of the heart. By relaxing the blood vessels and easing the heart's workload, it helps lower the risk of heart attack and stroke.
It contains enalapril, which belongs to a group of medicines called ACE inhibitors that relax the blood vessels so blood flows more easily. Take it as prescribed, and keep taking it even when you feel well; do not stop it without medical advice.
Reducing salt in your diet, staying active, keeping to a healthy weight and limiting alcohol support better blood pressure control alongside this medicine. Avoid potassium-based salt substitutes unless your doctor agrees.
Tell your doctor about any kidney problems before starting, and about other medicines you take. Avoid this medicine in pregnancy. A dry cough can occur; tell your doctor if it is troublesome. Report marked dizziness, fainting, or swelling of the face, lips or tongue.
