Eptoin 300 ER Tablet is used to manage epileptic seizures in adults, including generalised tonic-clonic (grand mal) seizures and complex partial seizures.
It contains phenytoin, an anticonvulsant that helps control seizures by reducing abnormal electrical activity in the brain. It is also used to prevent seizures during or after neurosurgery or severe head trauma. Take it exactly as prescribed, and do not stop it suddenly, as this may trigger seizures.
Keeping regular meal times, getting adequate sleep and avoiding known seizure triggers such as alcohol can help support seizure control alongside this medicine.
Before starting, tell your doctor about any pre-existing conditions or other medicines you are taking. Your doctor may monitor your phenytoin blood levels periodically. Contact your doctor promptly if you develop a skin rash, unusual bruising or bleeding, or yellowing of the skin or eyes. It is not suitable during pregnancy without medical advice.
