CompositionEslo-5 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and to prevent chest pain (angina). It is a single-ingredient medicine containing S-amlodipine, and belongs to a class of medicines called calcium channel blockers.
This medicine lowers the workload on the heart and helps reduce the risk of future heart attacks and strokes. Take it with or without food, as prescribed, and continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms. Use the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor.
Reducing salt intake, eating more fruit and vegetables, staying physically active, keeping to a healthy weight and limiting alcohol help control blood pressure alongside this medicine. Avoid grapefruit juice, as it can affect how the medicine works.
Tell your doctor if you have liver problems, heart failure or very low blood pressure before starting this medicine, and about any other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Speak to your doctor before use if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Report ankle swelling or ongoing dizziness to your doctor, and report any side effects that persist or become serious. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
