Esomac D 40 Capsule is used to manage gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), functional dyspepsia and heartburn. It helps reduce stomach acid production and improves the movement of food through the digestive tract, easing symptoms such as acid regurgitation and stomach fullness after meals.
It contains esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that blocks the enzyme responsible for producing stomach acid, and domperidone, which improves gastric emptying. Take the capsule on an empty stomach, ideally one hour before your first meal, and swallow it whole without crushing or opening it. Continue taking it as prescribed for the full course.
Eating smaller, more frequent meals, avoiding spicy, oily or acidic foods, and not lying down immediately after eating can help support digestive comfort alongside this medicine.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any liver problems, heart rhythm problems, or are taking other medicines, particularly antifungals or HIV medicines. Report persistent stomach pain, black stools or unexplained weight loss to your doctor promptly.
