Estogen tablet is a prescription medication used for estrogen hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in treating symptoms of menopause. Estrogen is a female hormone that plays a vital role in the development and regulation of the female reproductive system, secondary sexual characteristics, bone health, and vaginal health.
Apart from its use in hormone replacement, this medicine may also be prescribed for other estrogen deficiency-related conditions in females such as dry and itchy vagina, genital pain, hot flashes and night sweats. The composition of this tablet includes ethinyl estradiol (5 mg).
While Estogen is generally safe and effective, it may not suit everyone. This tablet should only be used under the guidance of a doctor. Patients with a history of blood clots in the lungs, legs, or other clotting disorders should not take it until prescribed by a doctor.
Patients with a history of heart-related conditions, seizures, migraines, overactive bladder, and high lipid levels should consult their healthcare provider before using this tablet. Individuals with estrogen-related cancers, including breast, ovarian, and endometrial, should also inform their doctor before taking this medicine.
