CompositionFerinject Injection is used to rapidly replenish iron stores in adults and adolescents with iron deficiency anaemia who are unable to tolerate oral iron supplements or who have not responded adequately to them. It restores haemoglobin levels and relieves the fatigue, weakness, and breathlessness associated with iron deficiency.
It contains ferric carboxymaltose, an intravenous iron preparation that delivers a large amount of iron directly into the bloodstream in a single or small number of infusions. The iron is slowly released from the complex for use in red blood cell production, restoring iron stores efficiently.
This injection is administered by a healthcare professional as an intravenous infusion or injection in a clinical setting. Patients are monitored during and after administration. The dose is calculated based on body weight and the degree of iron deficiency.
Nausea, headache, and flushing are among the most common effects and usually resolve quickly. Injection site reactions may also occur. Tell your doctor about any history of iron overload, liver disease, infections, or allergies to iron preparations before receiving this injection.
