Fibator 20 Tablet is used to lower high cholesterol and triglyceride levels in adults.

Uses of Fibator 20 Tablet are:

• Cholesterol Control: Lowers total and LDL (bad) cholesterol while raising HDL (good) cholesterol.
• Triglyceride Reduction: Reduces high levels of triglycerides in the blood.
• Mixed Dyslipidaemia: Helps manage mixed cholesterol and triglyceride disorders.
• Primary Hypercholesterolaemia: Helps manage primary hypercholesterolaemia.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Avoid crushing or chewing it.

• This medicine can be taken either with or without food.

• Do not exceed the recommended dose unless your doctor advises you to do so.

• Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Fibator 20 Tablet is taken orally.

Fibator 20 Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Atorvastatin (20 mg): This component works by blocking an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase, which plays a key role in the production of cholesterol in the liver. By inhibiting this enzyme, atorvastatin effectively reduces the amount of cholesterol produced by the body. It also promotes the removal of LDL cholesterol from the blood by increasing the number of LDL receptors in liver cells.

• Fenofibrate (145 mg): As a fibrate, fenofibrate activates a receptor known as peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor α (PPARα). This receptor regulates the breakdown and elimination of triglyceride-rich particles from your blood. Fenofibrate increases the activity of an enzyme called lipoprotein lipase, which breaks down triglycerides and reduces the production of a substance called apoprotein C-III, inhibiting lipoprotein lipase activity. This leads to decreased triglyceride levels and a shift in LDL particle size from small, dense, harmful particles to larger, less harmful particles.

Together, atorvastatin and fenofibrate provide a comprehensive approach to managing lipid disorders by targeting both cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
