Tamsulosin (0.4 Mg)

Flokind-0.4 Tablet is primarily used to treat the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It works by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and bladder, improving urine flow and relieving symptoms like difficulty starting urination and weak urine stream. However, it does not shrink the prostate.

Flokind-0.4 Tablet is prescribed to manage symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in adult men, including frequent urination and weak urine stream, by relaxing muscles in the prostate and bladder.

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
The tablet should not be crushed or chewed.
It's best to take this medicine approximately 30 minutes after the same meal each day.
Do not take more than your doctor has advised without consulting them.
Remember not to discontinue this medicine without first consulting your doctor.

Flokind-0.4 Tablet is taken orally.

Flokind 0.4 Tablet may cause side effects such as headache, dizziness, abnormal ejaculation, back pain, diarrhea, asthenia (weakness or lack of energy), pharyngitis (sore throat), and rhinitis (stuffy or runny nose).

Managing the Side Effects:

Alpha-1 Adrenoceptor Antagonist: Tamsulosin acts as an antagonist or a blocker for alpha-1 adrenoceptors located in your prostate, bladder base, bladder neck, and prostatic capsule.
Muscle Relaxation: By blocking these receptors, tamsulosin causes relaxation of the smooth muscles in these areas.
Improved Urine Flow: This muscle relaxation helps in reducing resistance in your urethra and obstruction at the bladder outlet, leading to improved urine flow rate and easing symptoms of BPH.

Pregnancy

Caution is advised while taking Flokind-0.4 Tablet if you are pregnant. It is best to consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

Breastfeeding

Alcohol
