CompositionForacort 200 Synchrobreathe Inhaler is used to provide regular, long-term control of asthma and COPD in adults. It is a combination medicine containing budesonide (an inhaled corticosteroid) and formoterol fumarate (a long-acting bronchodilator).
It helps prevent wheeze, chest tightness and breathlessness, but it is not for the immediate relief of a sudden attack. The breath-actuated device releases the dose as you breathe in. Use it regularly in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, even when you feel well.
Rinse your mouth with water after each use and spit it out to reduce the risk of thrush. Avoid smoke, dust and other triggers, and always keep a quick-relief inhaler for sudden attacks.
Before using, tell your doctor if you have tuberculosis, osteoporosis, diabetes or heart problems, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you use. In COPD, inhaled steroids can slightly raise the risk of pneumonia, so report fever or worsening breathlessness. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop using the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
