Gabapentin (100 Mg)

Gabapin 100 Tablet is a medicine used to manage nerve pain after shingles (postherpetic neuralgia) and to help control seizures in epilepsy. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing gabapentin, and belongs to a class of medicines called anticonvulsants.

Gabapin 100 Tablet is used to manage nerve pain and to help control seizures, and it helps by calming overactive nerve signals.

Uses of Gabapin 100 Tablet are:

Postherpetic Neuralgia: Eases the nerve pain that can follow a shingles outbreak.
Epilepsy: Helps control seizures and reduces how often they occur.

Swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water.
Do not crush or chew the tablet, as this may affect the way the medication is absorbed in the body.
Do not change your dose of Gabapin 100 Tablet or take them more often than prescribed.

Gabapin 100 Tablet is taken orally as a tablet.

Gabapin 100 Tablet may cause some side effects that are usually mild and go away as your body adjusts to the medicine.

A few common side effects of Gabapin 100 Tablet:

Nervous System: Dizziness, drowsiness and tiredness.
General: Swelling in the legs, ankles and feet.
Digestive: Nausea and vomiting.

If any side effect does not improve or becomes serious, speak to your doctor. Do not stop taking the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.

Management Of Side Effects:

Gabapin 100 Tablet contains the following component:

Pregnancy

Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding mothers should not take Gabapin 100 Tablet. It can pass to the infant through breast milk. Before taking this tablet while breastfeeding, it is recommended to consult your doctor.

Alcohol

Alcohol is not recommended while taking Gabapin 100 Tablet. Alcohol can add to drowsiness, dizziness and tiredness due to this tablet. It can also worsen the side effects of this medication.

Liver

Gabapin 100 Tablet should be used with caution in patients having liver disease as the use of this medicine can affect liver cells. If you have liver impairment, consult your doctor before taking this tablet.

Kidney

Gabapin 100 Tablet should be cautiously taken by patients with kidney disease or those undergoing dialysis. Dose adjustments may be required for such patients. If you have a severe kidney problem, inform your doctor before taking this injection.

Use In Driving And Operating Machinery

Kidney diseases may worsen with the use of Gabapin 100 Tablet.
Liver diseases may worsen with the use of Gabapin 100 Tablet.

Daily Dose

The recommended daily dose of Gabapin 100 Tablet should be taken as per the prescription of your doctor. The dosage may change based on individual factors such as the severity of the condition and response to treatment. It is important to follow the prescribed dosage and not exceed it without consulting your doctor.

Over Dose
