Galvus Met 50mg/850mg Tablet is used for the following:

• Management of type 2 diabetes in adults.

• Regulation of high blood sugar levels.

Follow these instructions while taking Galvus Met 50mg/850mg Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.

Galvus Met 50mg/850mg Tablet is taken orally.

Galvus Met 50mg/850mg Tablet contains two active ingredients that work together to control your blood sugar levels:

• Vildagliptin (50 mg): This component works by increasing the levels of special hormones called incretins. Incretins help to stimulate the release of insulin and reduce the production of glucagon, a hormone that raises your blood sugar levels. By doing so, Vildagliptin helps your body react better to insulin and control the amount of sugar in your blood after meals.

• Metformin (850 mg): This ingredient is a biguanide that reduces the amount of glucose produced by your liver. It also reduces the absorption of glucose from your gut and makes your body more sensitive to insulin, improving its effectiveness. This combination helps to lower your blood sugar levels without causing an increase in insulin production, thus minimising the risk of very low blood sugar levels, also known as hypoglycemia.
