Glizid-MR 60 Tablet is used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus by effectively controlling high blood sugar levels. It contains gliclazide in a modified-release formulation, which stimulates the pancreas to produce more insulin.
This medicine works by stimulating the pancreas to release insulin gradually and steadily through the day, in response to rising blood sugar after meals, reducing the risk of complications like kidney damage and vision problems.
Take this tablet daily with breakfast, swallowing it whole without crushing or chewing, since crushing can disrupt the modified-release action.
Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, are elderly, or have missed meals recently, as these increase the risk of hypoglycaemia. Learn to recognise low blood sugar symptoms, such as sweating, shakiness or confusion, and keep a fast-acting sugar source available.
