Glizid-XR 30 Tablet is used to manage type 2 diabetes in adults, particularly for initiating gliclazide therapy or in patients in whom a lower starting dose is appropriate. The modified-release formulation provides gradual insulin stimulation throughout the day and is associated with a lower risk of hypoglycaemia than immediate-release gliclazide.
It contains gliclazide 30 mg in a modified-release tablet. Take it with breakfast, swallowing the tablet whole without crushing or breaking it. The 30 mg starting dose may be titrated upward by your doctor as needed to achieve blood sugar targets.
Diet and lifestyle remain important alongside this medicine. Regular balanced meals, controlled carbohydrate intake, staying active, and maintaining a healthy weight all help blood sugar management.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any kidney or liver problems, or if you regularly skip meals. Always carry a fast-acting glucose source. Speak to your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
