Glyxambi 10 mg/5 mg Tablet is used for the following:

• Assisting in blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus

To use Glyxambi 10 mg/5 mg Tablet, follow these steps:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• You can take this medicine with or without food.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet before swallowing.

• Always stick to the dosage recommended by your doctor.

• If you notice any unusual symptoms, consult your doctor immediately.

Glyxambi 10 mg/5 mg Tablet is taken orally.

Glyxambi 10 mg/5 mg Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Empagliflozin (10 mg): As a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, empagliflozin operates by preventing the reabsorption of glucose in your kidneys. The result of this action is an increase in glucose excretion via the urine, leading to lower blood sugar levels.

• Linagliptin (5 mg): Classified as a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, linagliptin inhibits the DPP-4 enzyme which typically degrades incretin hormones. Incretin hormones are responsible for stimulating insulin secretion, so by inhibiting DPP-4, linagliptin increases insulin secretion and decreases glucagon secretion, helping to manage blood sugar levels.

• Store Glyxambi 10 mg/5 mg Tablet at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.
