Heparin (10 Iu)

Hep Lock Solution is primarily used to manage venous thromboembolism (VTE) and other blood clotting disorders. This medicine is part of the anticoagulant class of medications.

It further helps manage deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE). It is also used for the treatment of chest pains resulting from disease of the heart arteries and the treatment of severe blockages affecting arteries in the legs. It also prevents blood clots in the heart following a heart attack (mural thrombosis).

Before taking this injection, you should inform your doctor about any existing health conditions or ongoing medications. If you experience any side effects while on this medication, notify your doctor immediately. It is important to continue administering this medicine for the entire duration prescribed by your doctor to ensure complete management of the infection.

Hep Lock Solution is used for the following:

Preventing blood clots in veins, a condition known as venous thromboembolism, in patients who are undergoing surgical procedures
Managing deep vein thrombosis, a serious condition where blood clots form in the deep veins of your body, typically in your legs
Managing Blood clots in the lung (pulmonary embolism)
Treatment of chest pains resulting from disease of the heart arteries (unstable angina pectoris)
Treatment of severe blockages affecting arteries in the legs (acute peripheral arterial occlusion)
Prevention of blood clots in the heart following a heart attack (mural thrombosis)

Directions for Use of Hep Lock Solution 10ml

Hep Lock Solution is administered by a healthcare professional. Here is how it is done:

Your doctor or nurse will inject your dose of heparin into a vein either all at once or over a longer period of time (usually via a drip).
Alternatively they may inject your heparin underneath your skin.
Do not self-administer this medicine unless you have been trained to do so.
