Hexaxim Vaccine is used for managing the following conditions:

• Diphtheria
• Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib)
• Pertussis
• Tetanus
• Polio
• Hepatitis B

Hexaxim Vaccine is administered subcutaneously, which involves injecting it under the skin.

Hexaxim Vaccine contains the following components:

• Diphtheria Immune Globulin (20 IU): Provides immunity against diphtheria by neutralising the toxins produced by Corynebacterium diphtheriae, preventing infection and its complications.
• Haemophilus Type B Conjugate Vaccine (12 mcg): Protects against infections caused by Haemophilus influenzae type B, including meningitis, pneumonia, and epiglottitis, by inducing an immune response to the bacterial polysaccharide.
• Pertussis Toxoid (25 mcg): Offers protection against whooping cough by triggering the immune system to recognise and fight the Bordetella pertussis bacteria, which causes this highly contagious respiratory disease.
• Tetanus Toxoid (40 IU): Prevents tetanus by stimulating the production of antibodies against the Clostridium tetani toxin, which can cause severe muscle stiffness and spasms.
• Poliomyelitis Virus Type 1 (40D Antigen Unit): Provides immunity against Poliovirus type 1, preventing poliomyelitis, a disease that can cause paralysis and neurological complications.
• Poliomyelitis Virus Type 2 (8D Antigen Unit): Induces protection against Poliovirus type 2, which is also a cause of paralytic polio.
• Poliomyelitis virus type 3 (32D Antigen Unit): Stimulates immunity to prevent infections caused by Poliovirus type 3, another strain responsible for poliomyelitis.
• Hepatitis B (10 mcg): Triggers an immune response against the hepatitis B virus, which infects the liver, preventing chronic infection and related complications like liver damage and cancer.

• Keep it away from direct light.
• Ensure the injection is kept out of reach of children.

• Ensure you maintain a healthy weight for your child by following a balanced diet.
• Incorporate nutrient-rich foods like leafy greens, citrus fruits, fatty fish, berries, yoghurt, apples, peaches, cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli, beans, and a variety of herbs and spices in your child’s diet.
• Limit intake of fast food, fried items, processed meats, refined carbs, and added sugars.
