Imax-s Injection is used for the following:

• Managing iron deficiency anaemia in chronic kidney disease patients on haemodialysis.

• Restoring iron levels in non-dialysis-dependent chronic kidney disease patients.

• Increasing iron stores in peritoneal dialysis-dependent chronic kidney disease patients.

• Boosting red blood cell production to counter low haemoglobin levels.

Follow these instructions while using Imax-s Injection:

• Imax-s Injection is administered via an intravenous route by a healthcare professional. It's not for self-administration.

• The medicine is either given as a slow injection over 2–5 minutes or as an infusion diluted in normal saline over a stipulated time.

• During administration, it's essential to monitor for any signs of allergic reactions. Inform your doctor immediately if you experience any discomfort or adverse reactions.

Imax-s Injection is administered intravenously.

Imax-s Injection contains Elemental Iron (20 mg), which operates in your body through the following mechanisms:

• Iron Absorption: The component iron from Imax-s Injection is absorbed by your body's reticuloendothelial system after IV administration. It is then transported to the bone marrow for red blood cell production or stored in the liver, spleen, and bone marrow.

• Sucrose Elimination: The sucrose part of the injected complex gets eliminated from your body through urinary excretion. This process efficiently prevents any potential toxicity that could arise from the release of large amounts of ionic iron into your bloodstream.
