Iopar-SR Capsule is used for glaucoma and other conditions.

Uses of Iopar-SR Capsule are:

• Glaucoma: Lowers raised pressure inside the eye.
• Altitude Sickness: Helps prevent and treat altitude sickness.
• Fluid Retention and Seizures: Helps remove excess fluid and is used as an add-on for certain seizures.

Here's how you should take Iopar-SR Capsule:

• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew or open the capsule as it interferes with the slow release properties of this medicine.

• Take your doses at evenly spaced times throughout the day. It's best to take your last dose in the early evening to avoid waking up at night due to increased urination.

Iopar-SR Capsule contains Acetazolamide (250 mg), which acts on the body as follows:

• Carbonic Anhydrase Inhibition: Acetazolamide works by inhibiting an enzyme called carbonic anhydrase in your body. This enzyme plays a key role in forming aqueous humour, the fluid that fills the front part of your eye.

• Reduction in Aqueous Humour Production: By blocking the activity of carbonic anhydrase, Acetazolamide effectively reduces the production of aqueous humour in the eye.

• Decreases Intraocular Pressure: As less fluid is produced, intraocular pressure decreases. This reduction in pressure is crucial in managing glaucoma and preventing damage to the optic nerve.

• Store Iopar-SR Capsule at room temperature, ideally below 30 degrees Celsius.

• Keep it away from direct sunlight, moisture, and heat.

• Ensure the medicine is stored in its original packaging for optimum safety.
