Iopar-SR Capsule is used to lower raised pressure inside the eye in glaucoma, and it is also used to prevent and treat altitude sickness, to help remove excess fluid (oedema), and as an add-on treatment for certain seizures.
It contains acetazolamide, a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor. It works by reducing the fluid the eye makes and by affecting fluid and salt balance in the body.
Take it as prescribed. Drinking enough fluids helps alongside it.
Tell your doctor about any allergy to sulfonamide medicines, or any kidney or liver problems, before use. It can cause tingling in the hands and feet and affect your body salts, which your doctor may check.
