Isordil-10 Tablet is used to prevent the recurrence of angina attacks (chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart) in people with coronary artery disease. It is taken regularly to reduce how often angina occurs and is not for stopping an attack that has already started.
It contains isosorbide dinitrate, a nitrate. Take it as prescribed. Do not stop it suddenly without your doctor's advice. Do not take medicines for erectile dysfunction (such as sildenafil) while taking nitrates, as this combination can cause a life-threatening drop in blood pressure.
A heart-healthy lifestyle helps reduce angina frequency alongside this medicine. A low-fat diet, quitting smoking, staying active within the limits your doctor advises, and managing stress all reduce strain on the heart.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about low blood pressure, severe anaemia, or raised pressure inside the eye, and about all other medicines. Tell your doctor if chest pain is not improving or is becoming more frequent. Speak to your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
