Isosorbide Dinitrate (5 Mg)

Isordil 5 Tablet is used to prevent and manage the chest pain of angina, which happens when the heart muscle does not get enough blood. It is a single-ingredient nitrate medicine containing isosorbide dinitrate.

It may also be used in certain types of heart failure to ease the strain on the heart. Take it in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, and do not stop it without medical advice. Getting up slowly helps reduce dizziness.

Avoiding smoking, following a diet low in saturated fat and salt, and staying active within the limits advised by your doctor support heart health.

Do not take it with medicines for erectile problems such as sildenafil, as this can cause a dangerous fall in blood pressure. Before starting, tell your doctor about any low blood pressure or migraines, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Ask your doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.

Uses of Isordil 5 Tablet are:

Angina: Helps prevent angina attacks.
Activity Tolerance: Helps reduce chest pain and improve how much activity you can do.
Heart Failure: May be used to ease the strain on the heart in certain types of heart failure.

To use Isordil-5 Tablet, follow these steps:

Take this medicine orally, with or without food.
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Do not crush or chew the tablet.

Isordil-5 Tablet is taken orally.

Isordil 5 Tablet may cause some side effects that are usually mild and go away as your body adjusts to the medicine.

A few common side effects of Isordil 5 Tablet:

Nervous system: Headache, dizziness and light-headedness.
Circulatory: Flushing, with warmth or redness of the skin.
General: Weakness.
