CompositionIvepred 8 Tablet is used to treat severe allergic reactions, asthma and autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus. It is a single-ingredient corticosteroid containing methylprednisolone.
It is also used for flare-ups of certain inflammatory skin and eye conditions, and it helps reduce swelling and pain in affected joints and airways. Take it with food in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop it suddenly, as the dose usually needs to be reduced gradually.
Include calcium and vitamin D in your diet, or take supplements if your doctor advises, to protect your bones. Limit salt and sugar, as this medicine can raise blood pressure and blood sugar.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have an infection, diabetes or high blood pressure, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Report signs of infection, unusual mood changes, persistent stomach pain, black stools or vomiting blood promptly. Ask your doctor before use during pregnancy. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
