Laxikem Plus Liquid is a medicine used for the short-term relief of constipation. It helps soften stools and lubricate the bowel, making bowel movements easier and less painful. It is particularly useful in conditions where straining during bowel movements should be avoided, such as in piles (haemorrhoids), anal fissures, hernia, or following surgery.
It contains liquid paraffin, which lubricates stool; milk of magnesia, which draws water into the bowel; and sodium picosulfate, which stimulates bowel movement. Take it as prescribed, usually at bedtime, and do not use it for prolonged periods without medical advice.
Increasing dietary fibre intake (such as fruits, vegetables, and whole grains), drinking plenty of fluids, and engaging in regular physical activity can support healthy bowel function alongside this medicine.
Before taking this liquid, tell your doctor if you have severe abdominal pain, unexplained stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, or a suspected bowel blockage. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before using this medicine.
