Levolin Respules are used for the quick relief of sudden shortness of breath and wheezing in patients with asthma or Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Known as a ""rescue"" medication, it opens up the lungs within minutes, making it an essential tool for managing acute respiratory distress or preventing ""tightness"" before physical activity.
These respules contain Levosalbutamol (also known as Levalbuterol). It is a selective beta-agonist that works by targeting the small muscles surrounding the bronchial tubes in the lungs. By causing these muscles to relax, the airways widen, allowing more air to flow in and out freely. Unlike older versions, Levosalbutamol is designed to provide relief with fewer side effects like a racing heart or jittery hands.
This medication must be used with a nebuliser machine. Twist open the respule and squeeze the liquid into the nebulizer chamber. Breathe in the mist slowly and deeply until the liquid is gone. Use it only as frequently as prescribed by your doctor. If your breathing does not improve after use, seek emergency medical attention immediately.
