Linares 5 mg Tablet is used in adults with type 2 diabetes for DPP-4 inhibitor blood sugar control, especially suitable for those with kidney disease.

Uses of Linares 5 mg Tablet are:

• Type 2 Diabetes: Controls blood sugar by preserving incretin hormones that stimulate insulin release when blood sugar is elevated.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not chew or crush it.
• The tablet can be taken with or without food.
• Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has instructed.
• If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one.
• Do not alter your dosage or stop taking the medicine without consulting your doctor.

Linares Tablet is taken orally.

Linares Tablet contains linagliptin (5 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• DPP-4 Inhibition: Linagliptin inhibits an enzyme called DPP-4 in your body. This enzyme typically breaks down incretin hormones such as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). These hormones stimulate your pancreas to produce more insulin when blood sugar levels are high.

• Enhanced Incretin Activity: By blocking the activity of DPP-4, linagliptin enhances and prolongs the activity of incretins. This leads to increased insulin secretion from the pancreas and decreased release of glucagon, a hormone that raises blood sugar levels. These dual actions serve to lower blood sugar levels effectively.

1. Store Linares Tablet at room temperature, ideally between 15°C and 30°C.

2. Protect it from moisture and light by keeping the container tightly closed.

3. Ensure the medicine is out of reach and sight of children.

4. Always check the expiry date on the package before using the tablet.
