LNZ Tablet is used to treat nosocomial pneumonia, which is acquired in a hospital, as well as community-acquired pneumonia. It helps manage complicated skin infections like cellulitis, erysipelas, and major abscesses. Additionally, it is effective against vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium infections and helps in managing multidrug-resistant tuberculosis when other options are unsuitable.

To use LNZ Tablet correctly, follow these steps:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew it.

• The medicine can be taken with or without food.

• Stick to the schedule recommended by your doctor and ensure the doses are evenly spaced.

• Always complete the full course of this medicine, even if you feel better before it ends.

LNZ Tablet is taken orally.

LNZ Tablet contains linezolid (600 mg), which interacts with your body in the following ways:

• Binds to bacterial ribosomal RNA: Linezolid latches onto a component of bacteria called 23S ribosomal RNA found in the 50S subunit. These units are essential for bacteria to make proteins.

• Inhibits protein synthesis: By binding to bacterial 23S ribosomal RNA, linezolid prevents these units from combining to form a functional 70S initiation complex, which is necessary for bacterial protein synthesis.

• Stops bacterial growth: With their protein synthesis disrupted, bacteria can't grow and multiply, helping your body's immune system get rid of them more easily. Linezolid may even directly kill some strains of pneumococci bacteria.

• Store LNZ Tablet at room temperature below 30 °C.

• Always keep the medicine in its original packaging, away from light and moisture.

• Ensure the product is kept out of reach of children.

• Pay attention to the expiry date on the packet and refrain from using LNZ Tablet beyond this date.

• If you're taking LNZ Tablet for an infection, aim to maintain a well-balanced diet rich in vitamins and proteins. This aids the body's natural defence mechanisms and helps fight off bacteria.

• Avoid consuming large amounts of tyramine-rich foods like aged cheeses and cured meats while using this medicine, as it may lead to hypertension. Consult your doctor for more specific dietary advice.
