Maxiflo 250 Rotacaps are used in adults to treat and prevent asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) symptoms, helping to improve breathing and reduce wheezing and chest tightness over the long term.

Uses of Maxiflo 250 Rotacaps are:

• Asthma: Helps prevent and manage wheezing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath.
• COPD: Helps improve airflow and manage breathing difficulties in COPD.
• Chest Tightness and Cough: Helps reduce chest tightness and cough associated with these conditions.

Follow these instructions while taking Maxiflo 250 Rotacaps:

• The medicine is taken by inhalation using a rotahaler device.

• Insert the rotacap into the device, then twist to break the capsule and release the powder.

• Breathe out fully before placing the rotahaler's mouthpiece into your mouth.

• Inhale deeply and forcefully through the mouthpiece to draw the medication into your lungs.

• After inhalation, rinse your mouth with water but do not swallow it. This helps prevent fungal infection in your mouth and hoarseness of voice.

Maxiflo 250 Rotacaps is administered via inhalation.

Maxiflo 250 Rotacaps contains two active ingredients:

• Fluticasone Propionate (250 mcg): Classified as a synthetic corticosteroid, fluticasone propionate works on the glucocorticoid receptors present in your body. It has a wide range of inhibitory activities against multiple cell types and mediators involved in inflammation. These actions result in decreased airway hyper-responsiveness and reduced inflammatory mediator release, thus reducing inflammation and swelling in the lungs.

• Formoterol Fumarate (6 mcg): This long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist stimulates an enzyme in your body called intracellular adenylate cyclase, which mediates the synthesis of cyclic-3',5'-adenosine monophosphate (cyclic AMP). Increased levels of cyclic AMP cause relaxation of the bronchial smooth muscle and inhibit the release of mediators of immediate hypersensitivity from cells, especially mast cells. This helps relax the muscles in the airways, improving your breathing.

• Store Maxiflo 250 Rotacaps in a dry place at a temperature below 25°C.

• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and excessive heat.

• Keep the medicine out of reach of children to prevent accidental consumption.

• Always ensure to use this medicine before its expiry date.

• If you have asthma or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), consider reducing your exposure to allergens and irritants like smoke, dust, and pet dander that can trigger breathing difficulties.
