CompositionMeftal-Spas Suspension is used to relieve tummy pain, cramps and bloating caused by spasms and excess gas in the gut in children. It is a combination medicine containing dicyclomine, an antispasmodic, and simethicone, an anti-foaming agent that helps gas bubbles pass.
This medicine relaxes the muscles of the stomach and intestines and eases gas and discomfort. Shake the bottle well, measure each dose exactly with the device provided, and give it only as prescribed by the doctor.
Offering small, light meals, avoiding fizzy drinks and gas-forming foods, and gentle tummy massage can help ease discomfort.
This medicine must not be given to babies under 6 months of age, as dicyclomine can cause serious breathing problems in young infants. Before giving it, tell the doctor if your child has breathing, heart, kidney or liver problems, glaucoma or a bowel blockage, and about other medicines your child takes. Seek medical help straight away if your child has breathing difficulty, unusual sleepiness, a fast heartbeat, or a swollen, hard tummy. Do not stop giving this medicine unless the doctor advises you to do so.
