Mega-CV Suspension is a combination antibiotic medicine used to treat various bacterial infections in children. It is effective against infections of the ears, nose, throat, lungs (pneumonia), urinary tract, skin, soft tissues, and bones and joints.
It contains amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. Clavulanic acid helps prevent bacteria from inactivating amoxicillin, making the antibiotic more effective against beta-lactamase-producing bacteria. Give this medicine to your child as prescribed by the doctor, preferably with meals to avoid stomach upset. Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve early to prevent bacterial resistance.
Encourage your child to drink adequate fluids and rest while recovering. Ensure proper hand hygiene to help prevent the spread of infections.
Before giving this medicine, inform your doctor if your child has any history of severe allergies to penicillin or cephalosporins, or any liver or kidney problems. Seek immediate medical attention if persistent diarrhoea, skin rash, or breathing difficulty occurs.
