Metrogyl Injection is a medicine that belongs to a group of medicines called antibiotics. It is used for various bacterial infections such as peritonitis (inflammation of abdominal lining), intra-abdominal abscess (pus in abdomen), and liver abscess.
This injection can also be taken for skin and skin structure infections that cause redness, swelling, and pus. Gynecologic infections such as endometritis (inflammation of the uterine lining), tubo-ovarian abscess (swelling and pus in fallopian tubes and ovaries), and postsurgical vaginal cuff infections can also be treated with this injection.
Infections of the brain, such as meningitis (inflammation of brain coverings) and brain abscess (pus-filled swelling in the brain), can also be addressed with this injection. Bone and joint infections caused by susceptible bacteria can also be managed with this injection.
Metrogyl Injection can also be administered for infections in the lower respiratory tract, including pneumonia, empyema (pus accumulation in the pleural cavity), and lung abscess.
