Monocef-O Oral Drops is an antibiotic medicine used to treat bacterial infections in infants and young children. It is commonly prescribed for middle ear infections (otitis media), throat infections (tonsillitis), sinus infections, lung infections (pneumonia), skin infections, and urinary tract infections.
It contains cefpodoxime proxetil, an oral cephalosporin antibiotic. Administer the exact dosage recommended by your paediatrician using the measured dropper provided. It can be given with or after food to improve absorption and minimise stomach discomfort. Continue giving it for the full duration prescribed, even if symptoms improve early.
Ensure your child drinks sufficient fluids and rests well during the infection. Keep the bottle clean and stored as directed on the pack.
Inform your paediatrician if your child has kidney problems, stomach disorders, or known allergies to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics. Report any severe diarrhea or allergic skin reactions to your doctor promptly.
