Monotrate OD 25 Tablet is used in adults for the ongoing prevention of angina (chest pain) in people with coronary artery disease.

Uses of Monotrate OD 25 Tablet are:

• Angina Prevention: Helps prevent chest pain (angina) caused by reduced blood flow to the heart.
• Improved Blood Flow: Widens blood vessels so the heart muscle receives more oxygen-rich blood.
• Reduced Heart Workload: Eases the workload on the heart by improving the flow of oxygen-rich blood.

To ensure the maximum benefit from Monotrate OD 25 Tablet, follow these steps:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid breaking, chewing, or crushing the tablet.

• Make sure you take your medication at the same time each day to maintain a consistent level of the medication in your bloodstream.

• Do not change your dosage or stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Monotrate OD 25 Tablet contains Isosorbide Mononitrate (25 mg) which acts on your body in the following ways:

• Nitric Oxide Conversion: Isosorbide mononitrate is converted into nitric oxide in your body. Nitric oxide is a compound that helps your blood vessels expand.

• Activation of Guanylate Cyclase: The nitric oxide triggers an enzyme in your body called guanylate cyclase.

• Increased cGMP: The activated guanylate cyclase leads to an increase in cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP).

• Vasodilation: The increased levels of cGMP cause your vascular smooth muscle to relax, leading to the widening of your blood vessels. This process, called vasodilation, reduces resistance to blood flow, allowing more oxygen-rich blood to reach your heart muscle.
