Aristo Montaz Injection is used for the following:

• Managing lower respiratory tract infections including pneumonia

• Handling acute bacterial otitis media

• Managing gonorrhea and pelvic inflammatory disease

• Controlling septicemia, or blood poisoning caused by bacteria

• Treating bone and joint infections

• Handling intra-abdominal infections like peritonitis and biliary tract infections

• Providing surgical prophylaxis to prevent infection after surgery

• Assisting in managing infections in neutropenic patients, those with low white blood cell count

• Treating bacterial meningitis, a severe infection around the brain and spinal cord.

Aristo Montaz Injection is administered intravenously or via an intramuscular route.

This medicine contains two active ingredients:

• Ceftriaxone (1000 mg): This component acts by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located inside the bacterial cell wall. These PBPs are enzymes involved in assembling the bacterial cell wall and reshaping it during growth and division. When ceftriaxone binds to PBPs, it inhibits the linking of peptidoglycan chains that are essential for bacterial cell wall strength and rigidity. The weakening of the bacterial cell wall leads to cell lysis.

• Tazobactam (125 mg): Tazobactam works by inhibiting beta-lactamases secreted by certain bacteria which usually inactivate beta-lactam antibiotics like ceftriaxone. By combining tazobactam with ceftriaxone, it protects ceftriaxone from being broken down by these bacterial enzymes, hence extending the antibiotic spectrum of ceftriaxone to include many beta-lactamase-producing bacteria that have acquired resistance to ceftriaxone alone.

• Store Aristo Montaz Injection at a temperature below 30°C.
