Mupimet Ointment 10gm

Mupimet Ointment is used for the following:

• Managing impetigo

• Controlling folliculitis

• Helping with minor skin wounds

• Ensure the affected skin area is clean and dry before applying the ointment. You can use soap and water for cleaning.

• Apply the ointment to the affected area using your fingertips or a clean cotton swab.

• The amount of ointment required will depend on the size of the affected area.

• Gently massage the product into your skin, covering the entire affected area with a thin layer of ointment.

• Wash your hands thoroughly after applying the ointment to avoid spreading the infection.

• Always consult your doctor for specific advice.

Mupimet Ointment is applied topically.

Mupimet Ointment contains mupirocin (2%), which works on your skin as follows:

• Targets bacterial proteins: Mupirocin acts by inhibiting bacterial isoleucyl-tRNA synthetase. This enzyme is crucial for protein synthesis in bacteria.

• Halts bacterial growth: By blocking this specific enzyme, mupirocin stops the incorporation of isoleucine into bacterial proteins. This effectively halts bacterial growth and replication.
