Nexovas 5 Tablet is used for high blood pressure and angina.

Uses of Nexovas 5 Tablet are:

• High Blood Pressure: Helps lower and control raised blood pressure.

Here are the guidelines for taking Nexovas 5 Tablet:

• Take this medicine orally with a glass of water.

• You can consume this tablet with or without food.

• Make sure not to crush or chew the tablet; swallow it whole.

• Do not abruptly stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Nexovas 5 Tablet contains cilnidipine (5 mg) which acts on the body in the following ways:

• Vasodilation: Cilnidipine inhibits the influx of calcium ions into smooth muscle cells lining small arteries and arterioles. This action causes the blood vessels to widen, a process known as vasodilation.

• Reduction of Peripheral Vascular Resistance: The vasodilation caused by cilnidipine leads to a reduction in peripheral vascular resistance, which in turn helps lower high blood pressure.

• Norepinephrine Suppression: Cilnidipine blocks certain types of voltage-dependent calcium channels including N-type ones, which suppresses the release of norepinephrine from sympathetic nerve endings. This action contributes to lowering blood pressure and minimises the occurrence of reflex tachycardia compared to other calcium channel blockers that only block L-type channels.

• Store Nexovas 5 Tablet at room temperature.

• Keep it away from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Place the medication in a place that children and pets cannot reach.

• Try to maintain a low-salt diet. Excessive salt can raise blood pressure, making it harder for Nexovas 5 Tablet to manage your condition.
