Nor-Metrogyl O Suspension is used to treat bacterial and parasitic infections in children, mainly gut infections such as diarrhoea and dysentery.

It combines an antibiotic and an antiprotozoal medicine. Together these act on the infection-causing bacteria and parasites to clear the infection.

Give the suspension exactly as prescribed, at the correct dose for your child's age and weight, and complete the full course even if symptoms improve.

Primary Uses of Nor-Metrogyl O Suspension are:

Diarrhoea and Dysentery: Treats diarrhoea and dysentery caused by bacteria and parasites.
Gut Infections: Helps clear intestinal infections caused by susceptible bacteria and parasites and eases abdominal symptoms.

Shake the bottle well before each use.
Use the measuring cup provided to ensure accurate dosage.
Give the prescribed amount to your child as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist.
Remember to finish the full course of treatment, even if your child start feeling better before it is completed.

Nor-Metrogyl O Suspension is taken orally.

By interfering with this process, ofloxacin disrupts bacterial DNA synthesis and inhibits bacterial growth, making it effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria.
Metronidazole (100 mg): It is an antimicrobial agent that undergoes chemical changes inside bacterial and protozoa cells, generating some compounds. These compounds interfere with DNA replication and damage the genetic material of the microorganisms. As a result, ornidazole is effective against bacteria and protozoa.

Liver

Is it advisable to take Nor-Metrogyl O Suspension when experiencing liver problems?

Children with a history of liver dysfunction are not recommended to take Nor-Metrogyl O Suspension. If your child has a history of liver disease or has existing liver impairment, inform your doctor while this medication is prescribed.
