Lactic Acid Bacillus (60 M) + Metronidazole (200 Mg) + Ofloxacin (100 Mg)

Norfagyl Plus Oral Suspension is an antibiotic combination medicine commonly prescribed for children to treat various bacterial infections. It may help treat infections affecting the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, and dental tissues. By controlling the infection, it helps relieve associated symptoms and supports your child's recovery.

Give the medicine to your child exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Continue giving the medicine for the full recommended duration, even if your child starts feeling better earlier. Stopping the medicine too soon may cause the infection to return or may prevent it from being completely treated.

Norfagyl Plus Oral Suspension used for managing a wide array of bacterial and protozoal infections in children. It is highly effective against gastrointestinal infections (like bacterial diarrhoea and dysentery), respiratory tract infections (pneumonia, bronchitis), and infections of the urinary tract. It is also prescribed for gynaecological, skin and soft tissue, and dental infections (such as periodontitis) in paediatric patients.

Giving Norfagyl Plus Oral Suspension to your child involves the following steps:

Before each use, shake the bottle well to ensure the ingredients are evenly distributed.
Measure out the exact dose as recommended by your child's doctor.
Give this medicine to your child as per your doctor's guidance and for the complete duration advised.
If your child has diabetes, consult your doctor before giving this medicine as it is sugar-based.

Norfagyl Plus Suspension may cause side effects like nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness, metallic taste or fungal infections such as candidiasis. If these side effects persist or worsen, consult your doctor.

Management Of Side Effects:

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless, which resolve by discontinuing the use of Norfagyl Plus Oral Suspension. However, if you experience any serious side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

Here are some tips for managing common side effects:

Diarrhoea: Try giving Norfagyl Plus Oral Suspension to your child with food to lessen this effect.
Metallic taste in the mouth: Offering your child a mouth rinse with water after giving this medicine may help remove the metallic taste.

Norfagyl Plus Oral Suspension contains three active ingredients:

Ofloxacin (100 mg): This is an antibiotic that prevents bacterial DNA replication and cell division by inhibiting two enzymes—DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV—in the bacteria. It has a broad spectrum of activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
Metronidazole (200 mg): This is an antibiotic that works against anaerobic bacteria and certain parasites. It penetrates bacterial cells and inhibits DNA synthesis which leads to cell death. Metronidazole is particularly effective against Gram-negative anaerobic bacteria.
