CompositionNS Euroline Injection is used to replace lost fluid and salt (sodium chloride) in the body, such as in dehydration caused by severe vomiting, diarrhoea or heatstroke. It is a sterile solution of sodium chloride 0.9% (normal saline), and belongs to a group of medicines called intravenous fluids and electrolyte replacements.
This medicine is also used to correct some types of low sodium levels and as a carrier fluid to dilute and give other medicines into a vein. It is given by a healthcare professional as a drip into a vein, and the amount and speed depend on your condition, age and weight.
Once you are able to eat and drink, taking fluids by mouth, such as oral rehydration solution (ORS), as advised by your doctor can help maintain hydration.
Before treatment, tell your doctor if you have heart failure, kidney disease, liver disease, high blood pressure, swelling of the legs or high sodium levels, and about other medicines you take. Your care team will monitor your fluid and salt levels. Tell them straight away if you notice swelling, breathlessness, a fast heartbeat, or pain, redness or swelling at the drip site. Do not stop the treatment unless your doctor advises you to do so.
