Nukast 4 Syrup 60Ml

Nukast-4 Syrup is used in children aged 2 to 5 years for managing allergic rhinitis, bronchial asthma and chronic idiopathic urticaria.

Uses of Nukast-4 Syrup are:

• Allergic Rhinitis: Relieves inflammation of the nose caused by allergens like pollen, dust mites or pet dander.
• Bronchial Asthma: Helps manage inflammation and narrowing of the airways, easing wheezing and breathing difficulty.
• Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria: Helps manage long-lasting itchy, red bumps on the skin without a clear cause.

Before giving Nukast-4 Syrup to your child follow these steps:

• Shake the bottle well before each use.

• Use a spoon or cup to measure out the correct dose as advised by your doctor.

• This medicine is sugar-based and needs caution for use in diabetic patients. If your child has diabetes, consult your doctor before giving them this medicine.

• Always remember to cap the bottle tightly after use.

Nukast-4 Syrup is given orally.

Nukast-4 Syrup contains two active ingredients:

• Montelukast (4 mg): Montelukast acts as a leukotriene receptor antagonist. It prevents the action of leukotrienes, which are inflammatory chemicals released by the immune system in response to allergens. In the lungs, leukotrienes can cause inflammation, swelling and narrowing of airways, mucus production and allergic reactions. By blocking leukotriene receptors, montelukast reduces airway inflammation and helps prevent symptoms of asthma such as wheezing and breathlessness. It also decreases nasal allergy symptoms.

• Levocetirizine (2.5 mg): This component works as a selective histamine H1-receptor antagonist. Levocetirizine blocks the action of histamine, a substance naturally released during an allergic reaction that can cause symptoms such as runny nose, watery eyes, itching, swelling and rashes. By preventing histamine from binding to its receptors, levocetirizine provides relief from these symptoms.

Together, levocetirizine and montelukast in Nukast-4 Syrup provide comprehensive relief from both upper and lower respiratory allergies through these complementary mechanisms.

• Store Nukast-4 Syrup below 25°C, ideally in a cool, dry place.

• The container should be tightly closed to protect from moisture and light.

• Keep the syrup out of the reach and sight of children.

• Always check the expiry date before giving this medicine to your child.

• Use the syrup within one month of opening the bottle.

• Encourage your child to drink plenty of fluids. This can help thin out mucus in the nose and lungs, making breathing easier when managing allergic rhinitis and asthma.

• Limit your child's exposure to allergens such as dust mites and pollen. Regular cleaning of your home and using allergy-proof bed covers can help reduce symptoms.
