Obimet SR Tablet interacts with the following medicines:

• Cationic Medicines: Medications such as cimetidine, amiloride, digoxin, morphine, procainamide, quinidine, ranitidine and others that are removed from your body by your kidneys may interact with Obimet SR Tablet. This is due to both types of medication using the same systems in your kidneys to be removed from your body.

• Iodinated Contrast Agents: These agents used in some medical imaging procedures can change how your kidneys work for a short time. This increases the risk of a rare but serious condition called lactic acidosis when you're taking Obimet SR Tablet.

Obimet SR Tablet does not have any known interactions with food.

Obimet SR Tablet interacts with the following diseases:

• Severe Renal Impairment: If you have severe problems with your kidneys, you should not take Obimet SR Tablet. This is because metformin, the active ingredient in this medicine, is largely removed from your body by your kidneys. If these are not working properly, metformin can build up in your blood and cause lactic acidosis.

• Metabolic Acidosis: Including diabetic ketoacidosis (a complication of diabetes). If you have this condition, you should not take Obimet SR Tablet. This is because it could make the acid levels in your blood even higher.

The dosage of Obimet SR Tablet depends on the doctor's prescription. This may vary based on individual factors such as your condition's severity and your response to the medication. It's vital to adhere to the prescribed dosage and never exceed it without consulting your doctor.

Overdosing on Obimet SR Tablet may lead to symptoms like diarrhoea, nausea, and loss of appetite. If you suspect you've taken too much of this medicine, please consult your doctor right away.

If you miss a dose of Obimet SR Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it's nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular schedule. Avoid doubling up on doses without your doctor's approval.
