Ocupol Eye Ointment is a medicine used to treat bacterial eye infections, such as bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye) and corneal infections. It relieves eye redness, watering, discharge, and irritation.
It contains polymyxin B and chloramphenicol. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying a thin strip of ointment inside the lower eyelid as directed. Do not touch the tip of the tube to the eye or any surface to prevent contamination. Contact lenses should not be worn during eye infection treatment.
Temporary blurred vision after applying eye ointment is normal; avoid driving or operating machinery until your vision clears completely.
Discontinue use and consult your eye doctor if redness or irritation worsens or if you develop an allergic reaction. Tell your doctor about any existing eye conditions before using this ointment.
